1. Determine Your Hosting Architecture
The setup process differs slightly depending on whether your data lives in the cloud or on your local hardware.
- For Economic Model Users: Your system is Cloud-Based. Remote access is native to the platform. Once the gateway is connected to the internet, you simply log in via the Switchology cloud portal using your credentials.
- For Beginner, Advantage, or Promax Users: These are Self-Hosted models. The gateway acts as the server. While they work 100% offline, you can enable "Secure Remote Access" to view the dashboard from outside your local network.
2. Hardware Preparation & Network Connection
Before configuring software, ensure the physical connection is stable.
- Ethernet Link: Connect your gateway to your facility’s network router or switch using a high-quality Cat6 Ethernet cable.
- Power Check: Ensure the gateway is powered and the network LED indicators are active.
- Local IP Assignment: By default, the gateway will request an IP address from your router (DHCP). For professional setups, we recommend assigning a Static IP to the gateway to ensure the address never changes.

If your facility uses a Corporate VPN, this is the most secure method.
- Step 1: Connect your mobile device or laptop to your company’s VPN.
- Step 2: Once connected, your device acts as if it is on the local office network.
- Step 3: Simply enter the gateway’s Static Local IP address into your browser to view the live SCADA-style interface.
4. Establishing Your User Credentials
